ROWT runs on volunteers. Whether you have 2 hours a year or 20 hours a month, there is a place for you in ROWT.

Volunteer at Events

Help at parades, the Lincoln Day Dinner, voter registration drives, and monthly meetings. No experience required — just energy and enthusiasm for the cause.

Become a Precinct Captain

Precinct Captains are the backbone of township politics. They know their neighbors, knock doors, and turn Republicans out to vote. This is the most impactful volunteer role in the organization.

What you do: maintain a list of Republican voters in your precinct, make contact during campaigns, and report turnout on Election Day. Time commitment: ~4-8 hours per election cycle plus optional monthly meetings.
How it works in Cook County: unlike most Illinois counties, Cook County precinct committeemen — known here as Precinct Captains — are appointed by the Township Committeeman, not elected. (Township and precinct committeeman seats themselves are elected every four years in the March primary.)
