With December just around the corner, we're looking forward to our annual ROWT Christmas Party this Sunday, Dec. 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. at our usual place, LaZingara Trattoria, 2300 Rand Road, Arlington Heights (in the northwest end of the Brandenberry Plaza at Camp McDonald Road).
Bring an empty stomach and a smile - and if you would like to help needy township children, bring a hat/gloves/scarf (or any combination thereof), unwrapped please, so we can donate them through Township Supervisor Mike Schroeder's office. It's our annual tradition.
Check out the poster at the party for the names of those friends who have underwritten this party; we owe them our thanks - and thanks, too, to Sheila & Eddie Shamo for producing the poster for us.
Ballot Update
Next Monday, the State will close its filing period for nominating petitions to get on the ballot for the March 20 primary - except for Congress, President and Presidential Delegates/Alternates; those filing deadlines are later in December for Congress and into January for the Presidential contenders and delegate slates.
We'll announce the winner of our signatures contest at the Christmas Party on Sunday. Overall, I was pleased with the participation of our organization.
Lincoln Day Dinner
Early next year - just around the corner now - ROWT and five neighboring township GOP organizations will jointly host the annual NW Suburban Republican Lincoln Day dinner. No details yet on date, time, place (probably Schaumburg) or speaker, but we're already selling ads for the adbook. If you'd like to place an ad or sell some, please contact me. This is our major fundraising event of the year, and our ad sales are a critical factor in building our treasury. Last year, Wheeling was #1 - please help me repeat that distinction!
Judge Candidate Fundraiser
Tuesday, Dec. 13, 13th district judicial candidate Paul Pavlus will welcome your support at his fundraiser at Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith, Palatine. Tickets are $50 for the 5:30 - 8:30 event. Info and RSVP:

Condolences
We offer our sincere sympathy to Kathy Penner, our committeewoman and a township trustee, on the passing of her mother ... and to Maria Rodriguez, mayor of Long Grove, on the passing of her father.
